A short, plain-language summary of how we handle information on this website and when you contact us.
Last updated: 21 April 2026
This site is operated by MerseyPixel ("we", "us", "our"), an independent software studio based in Wirral, Merseyside, United Kingdom. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit merseypixel.co.uk or get in touch with us, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law.
MerseyPixel is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy by emailing hello@merseypixel.co.uk.
This website is deliberately simple. It is a set of static pages served over HTTPS. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party embeds that profile visitors.
Our web host creates standard server logs to help keep the site running and secure. Those logs may include your IP address, the pages you requested, the time of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. They are retained for a short period and are not combined with any other information about you.
If you email us, we will receive whatever information you choose to send — typically your name, your email address, and the contents of your message. We use that information only to reply to you and to carry out any work you ask us to do.
We use the information you share with us to:
Under UK GDPR we rely on one of the following legal bases for processing your information, depending on the context: your consent (for example, when you email us first), the performance of a contract (when we're doing paid work for you), our legitimate interests (running and securing a small business), or a legal obligation (for example, keeping financial records).
We do not sell your personal information, ever. We share it only where we have to — for example, with our accountant, our email provider, or where we are legally required to. Any third parties we use are bound by their own data protection obligations.
We keep enquiry emails for as long as a conversation is reasonably live, and delete or archive them when they are no longer needed. Records relating to paid engagements are kept for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (typically six years).
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted in some circumstances, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@merseypixel.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
This website does not set any cookies of its own. If that changes in future — for example, if we add a contact form — we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged clearly.
Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to hello@merseypixel.co.uk.
